J. Jeffery Riggs – President/Principal

Jeff Riggs is President of Essex Financial Group. Jeff has been active in Denver commercial real estate since 1978. He has over 35 year of experience in oversight of loan production, company management, and oversight of market share. Jeff is also a partner in Essex Financial Services, which operates as a sister company to Essex Financial Group, and has a servicing portfolio of over $5 billion. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a BS in Finance and received his MBA from the University of Connecticut with a concentration in real estate, in addition to being a licensed broker in the state of Colorado.

Peter Keepper – Managing Principal

Peter Keepper is the Managing Principal of Essex Financial Group with expertise in leading loan production, sales management, and marketing.  He has been active in commercial real estate investment sales and mortgage banking for over 23 years.  Peter specialized in investment sales for 11 years and mortgage banking for the past 12 years and has championed over $2 billion in debt and equity transactions.  He received his B.S.B.A. degree in Real Estate Capital Management and Finance from the University of Denver.  He is also a licensed real estate broker in the state of Colorado.

Mike Jeffries – Principal

Mike Jeffries is an original founder and Principal of Essex Financial Group with over 35 years of practice in commercial real estate and mortgage banking.  He has extensive experience in arranging debt and equity financing for all types of income producing properties ranging from $1 million to over $100 million in value.  Over the past four decades he has been involved directly in over 500 transactions. In addition to being a licensed by the state of Colorado as a real estate broker, Mike received his Bachelors degree in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Nebraska.

Ed Boxer – Principal

Ed Boxer is a Principal of Essex Financial Group with over 30 years of experience in commercial mortgage banking.  He has extensive experience and understanding in arranging both debt and equity for all major commercial asset classes.  Ed received his M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Denver.

Dustin Anderson – VP, Loan Production

Cooper Williams – VP, Loan Production

Cooper’s responsibilities at Essex include sourcing new debt opportunities, underwriting debt and equity transactions, and assisting in loan workout and modification analysis. Prior to joining Essex, Cooper worked in project management for K. Hovnanian Homes, overseeing various aspects of residential community development in Southern California.  Cooper holds an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Real Estate Finance from the University of Southern California.

He has experience across a wide range of asset classes.  Dan earned his M.B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a dual concentration in finance and real estate and received his B.A. from Northwestern University.

Mary Knoll – Chief Financial Officer

Ms Knoll is Chief Financial Officer for Essex Financial Group, Mountain West Management and Baron Properties where she is responsible for all financial reporting, accounting, tax, cash management, and financial planning. She has expertise in financial systems, internal controls, planning and analysis, strategic planning, procurement, and staff leadership and management with multiple industry experience including telecommunications, manufacturing, construction, banking, and public accounting. Prior to joining the partnership, Ms Knoll was Executive Director of Operations Support for Comcast’s National Communications Engineering and Operations Group. While with Comcast she also managed the merger integration of Comcast and AT&T Broadband. She also served as managing director for the Denver Financial Service Center for the Resolution Trust Corporation from 1992-1996. In that position Ms Knoll was responsible for all loan servicing and transaction related accounting and reporting. She is a licensed certified public accountant and a member of the AICPA and Colorado Society of CPAs. Ms Knoll has substantial experience in receivership accounting and court reporting.
